Exclusive Contest! Design your very own Darkfall Weapons

Exclusive Contest! Design your very own Darkfall Weapons

Have you always wanted to play with a weapon you designed yourself?  Do you want a weapon so unique that hardly anyone else on the server wields it?

Well here is your chance to get both!

Starting from today on, we accept submissions of concept art of weapon designs of three different types of weapons: Bow, Greataxe and Greatsword.
The winning designs will be modelled and textured by the Darkfall Art Team. You will be credited on the in game tooltip and given the first set of the weapons (or weapon) as soon as they are introduced into the game.

These weapons will otherwise only be accessable through player created tournaments that are sponsored by us. Ninogan’s official player organized tournaments are a good example of such events.  The next EU Tournament will have the three weapons available as prizes!

How to enter your designs:
We ask you to send us concept art for a Bow, a Greatsword and a Greataxe. Your concept can be created in any medium you like. You do agree to the following terms upen sending us your sketch(es).

  • You grant Aventurine the sole right and usage of your sketches to model and recreate your vision for Darkfall Online.
  • You confirm that you have not copied any existing design of any other game or copyrighted material in general.
  • You confirm that you are the designer of the sketches you sent in or have permission by the actual designer of the sketches.
  • We reserve the right to not accept offensive or inappropriate designs or those not fitting to the Darkfall Universe.
  • The designs/concepts will be posted in a special thread created on the forums and/or on the official Darkfall Facebook Page.

(Aventurine S.A cannot be held responsible for copyright issues created by sketches that have been sent in which violate the terms stated above.)

  • Send us a .jpg version of your nicely presented concepts to contest at darkfallonline dot com with your personal information and in game character name.
  • You can design all three weapons or any one of your choice.
  • Only one entry per person (one set of weapons).

Prizes and voting process
Sending in a full set of designs doesn’t mean you will automatically win with your full set. We might choose one weapon of your set and another type of someone else’s submission.
The Darkfall Designers and Art Director will chose among all the entries and decide which three designs will be chosen to be added to the Game. You will also get any weapon that made it into the Game based on your design should you be chosen as one of the winners.

Who can enter:
Everyone with an active Darkfall account at the time the contest ends. Aventurine employees are not legit to enter this contest.

Deadline:
Deadline is on Monday the 14th of March 2011. 6pm (GMT+2) Date of Email received.

How to get these weapons for your own tournament
Your tournament has to be server wide and not favour a specific guild or group of people linked in any way other then being Darkfall players to be taken into consideration for sponsoring. Tournaments obviously created for the sole reason of getting the weapons sponsored will not be eligible for sponsoring. You also need a track record of previously organized events in order to be eligible for the weapons in question. If you think you meet these criteria, feel free to send any of the Liasons a PM with a link to information about your planned event.

So, what are you waiting for? Get your creative juices flowing and send us those sketches!
